Dr. Edward Bond joined the Bradley University Marketing faculty in fall of 1997. Since that time he has been awarded a Caterpillar Inc. Fellowship, a Bradley University Research Excellence Committee Grant, and a Foster College of Business Administration Faculty Development Grant to pursue his research.

CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Bond’s research focuses on the interdisciplinary role of marketing in the development and deployment of marketing strategy. His current research includes a Critical-Incident-Technique approach to identifying behaviors associated with interaction between marketing, R&D, manufacturing, and sales. He is also collaborating on the developing a model of the barriers faced by established firms as they seek to match new technologies to market opportunities. Dr. Bond’s work under review includes papers examining:

  • The impact of marketing’s expertise on the top management team on sales growth, profitability, and shareholder value
  • The impact of informal network centrality and relational competence on reputational effectiveness of marketing managers
  • The barriers that established firms face as they seek to match new technologies to market opportunities

EXPERIENCE

Dr. Bond served as a minister for ten years before joining the ranks of academe. His work allowed him to gain extensive experience with not-for-profit organizations including sitting on several not-for-profit boards and executive committees. Further, he has broad experience in teaching public speaking and communication. Ed is a frequent contributor to executive development programs for both U.S. and international managers on topics including business and marketing strategy, competitive advantage, and effective cross-functional working relationships.
